Give the youth what they really want this Olympics

In an effort to attract a younger audience the Paris Olympics have added breakdancing to the line up. I assume by “younger audience” they mean Gen X, because that’s when it was popular. If the Olympics want to attract a younger audience they should add activities that young people are into; such as vaping, climate protests, and pole dancing.

There is no reason why pole dancing can’t be in the Olympics – it’s gymnastics for athletes over the age of consent. It wouldn’t need the traditional numbers for scoring to rate performance, the judges could just slip money to the competitors. And if you want to talk about ratings… * pulls at collar * …Pole dancing would certainly capture the 12-160 year old demographic.

What currently is the is the most “strippery” event at the Olympics? Equestrian. At least that’s what R&B star Genuwine told me. (I would also accept wrestling and weightlifting, because of the “clean and jerk” and the snatch.)

Only time will tell if breakdancing survives the next Olympics in LA, and time will also tell if the city still exists in 2028 (good luck in November!). But if by chance the event is moved to Los Vegas, I know what event my money will go on.
